I just thought I would post a few notes as to how to deal with a potential client. A client can be anyone from your aunt to a perfect stranger. How we deal with them however, should be the same.
All members are encouraged to contact people they believe can use our help. Please be courteous for these people wil be letting us into their homes or businesses.
Once the initial contact has been made and the client has asked for our help, please contact the group. Do this through this message board, email, telephone or at the next meeting. Discussing the client's accounts and fears will help us decide how to take our next step.
Usually, the next step will be another meeting with the client, the group member who made the initial contact and one or more others from the group (most likely those who have the best people skills). The purpose of this second interview will be to gather more in depth information, ease the client's fears of both us and their "intruders", obtain permission to investigate and establish the time of the investigation. (Most investigations will occur at night [10pm to 4am] and on weekends, since most of us and our clients work for a living) Obviously, concessions can be made for specific instances.
During the investigation we will take the utmost care to investigate without overwhelming the client with our presence.
Afterward, group volunteers will examine video and audio footage looking for paranormal evidence.
Finally, we will conduct an "after investigation interview" with the client, showing them any evidence we may have found, and asking their pemission to share this evidence on our website and/or with other investigators.
Thank You, and I also look forward to any other suggestions.
Tom
