Hey Rick, or anyone ... is there anyone who is fairly competent in the workings of Vista file systems? Something weird has been happening to me. Some of the files that I have unzipped into a place disappear and I can't see them unless I'm using FileZilla. The whole conversation about this problem can be seen here: BoardMod Program Problem and might shine some light at to why this is really happening. It baffles me.

turn off UAC and see what happens,, I didn't see this until today.
Also run your programs as administrator.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I fixed it ... a few months ago. Thanks for the speedy response, Tom. Er, I mean Rick.

Count me in on Robin's plan -- Since I bought my new Dell laptop with Vista, I can't get any of my peripherals to talk to it -- and the mfrs. have said they aren't planning new drivers to support Vista. So much for my digital voice recorder and digital camera. Grrrrrr . . .

I have a Dell with Vista. At first I hated it, but now I love it. Although, a few programs refuse to work on it.

I heard there is a way to set up your computer so that it will run both XP and Vista. I think that's probably the best way to go right now.

Vista is the only thing holding me back from purchasing a new computer. I would much rather run XP, so that is good to know. Thanks IMP.

I heard there is a way to set up your computer so that it will run both XP and Vista. I think that's probably the best way to go right now. I do that on several computers. Vista is great for some things. Xp is great on others. I run my audio capture software under vista. it talksto my mixer and does everything it needs to, the only think that doesn't work in vista is my video capture box. I'll be buying a new tv tuner for my new laptop so that I will get the capture software/hardware with that. Rick Rick
