I don't know how many of you watch Supernatural on the WB network, Thursday night at 9pm, but it is worth a look. The show is fiction with a little bit of myth/legend/religio-science thrown in to make it seem more real.
I like it because the actors have great chemistry and there's usually a cool ghost or demon in it (which they kill)
Anyway, during the episode titled, "Hell House" the ghost hunting brothers run into a couple of paranormal investigators. The investigators were portrayed as bumbling, immature, misinformed geeks. The brothers use and ridicule the investigators through a good bit of the episode. It was more than a bit demeaning. Although in the end, the paranormal investigators get a movie deal. So it all worked out.
I like the show but I was disappointed in the way amateur paranormal investigators were portrayed.
Tom.

I love this show! It's always fun to watch.
I wasn't too pleased with the way the amateur ghost hunters were portrayed either. It made it seem like we are all just looking for some kind of publicity and don't have a genuine interest in understanding the paranormal. Not all of us are doing it just for the fun of it. Some of us take it seriously.
Oh and by the way, the movie deal thing was just a joke. At the end of the show, Sam tells Dean he's the one who called and said he was a movie director. LOL

I've been dying for something decent to watch since Buffy went off the air. I know what you're thinking... Buffy?!?! What can I say, I have the hots for Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Anyway, when Supernatural came on last year, I watched it as often as I could, but darn it all if I didn't miss the last two shows of the season.
I missed last week's too, which is a shame because it seemed to have a dynamic impact which caused a role-reversal between the brothers and how they react in accordance with daddy's wishes.
But yeah, I dig the show. It's exciting, spooky, dark, moody, and anything but boring. I know what you're saying about the way they portrayed the amateur investigators. But in all fairness, I've seen people just like them before.
