Ok, not really sure if this is 'paranormal' material... but maybe... maybe not. I'll let you be the judge.
About a few months ago I started noticing as I was laying in bed with my eyes shut, ready to go to sleep, that the darkness behind my eye lids looked more like black static.
A couple months ago, I started noticing that the static, if you observe it right, sometimes makes flashes of images - all black and white, mind you. You had to be patient and not look so much with your eyes as you're looking with your mind (if that makes any sense).
Yesterday, when I closed my eyes I started to see a field with grain weeds, and wild flowers... I was circling through it, moving around this field, but I know I was still awake. And I saw a child and parent walking hand in hand, although I couldn't make out their faces - it was kind of blurry. It was all in color.
After I've slept for some four hours or more, when I close my eyes, there is nothing notable about the blackness behind my eyelids, not even static, really. So I figure it's related with my mind being tired, or closer to subconciousness.
The way I figure it is either my mind is becoming capable of dreaming while I'm still awake, or these are some sort of psychic visions that I'm experiencing - although I have no idea what they're trying to tell me, ever. It's not like I focus on anything in particular but seeing the images.
So my question to the psychics of the group, do you tend to have more vivid psychic visions when you're sleepy?

I want to say from my own experience that my visioons are not necessarily more vivid when I am very tired. However, they are harder for me to CONTROL. The way I do things is somewhat controlled. If I am very sleepy or tired, I find I'm sort of all over the place and picking up everything haphazardly. I've been having serious issues lately with control as it is. I'm picking up everything -- even when I'm not trying! LOL! What it sounds like you're doing is out of body, which usually happens around that slwwpy, relaxed state. Try thinking of a place before you lay down. See what happens. While I believe you are astral travelling (and I'm not a huge supporter of astral theories) it is still possible you are having visions. Whatever they are, try getting detail and leave a pad and pencil by your bed. When you wake from them, write them down immediately. You may notice a clearer pattern if you keep a nightly log.

I definately agree that keeping a pad and pen by the bed is a good idea. If I write things down when I first wake up (when I can still recall many details), it's amazing what you get - give it a half an hour and it fades - quickly.
I think that when we are just about ready to sleep, our brain waves are naturally shifting into "alpha phase". For me, this is the ideal "brain wave" for any psychic work - so it would make sense to me that you might be more apt to experience these things in that state. Hope that makes sense - it's late and I could be rambling.

The reason I'm sure I wasn't sleeping is because I remember it so vividly. I know the child was wearing a white coat, and the adult was wearing a beige overcoat coat or dress. The flowers were red and yellow... small, not like roses but like you might expect from a mustard plant. The weeds seemed to me to be more like grain, golden-brownish in color. Since I fell asleep directly after having this little vision, if it was related to sleeping I would be sure to have forgotten it, that's the nature of sleep.
Didn't seem to me like astral projection since it's the wrong time of season for that kind of setting here. I suppose I could have been astrally projecting in the southern hemisphere... but that's stretching.
Plus, the flashes I was getting earlier from the static were just random pictures, sometimes just strange patterns. The plain vision was something totally different. I wish I'd get a vision of the up-coming lotto numbers. That'd be something to write about for certain. Oh.. wait, maybe not. If the secret got out that I could see lottery numbers in my head, I'd be a wanted commodity and probably nabbed up to do someone's dirty work.
So just incase I do hit the powerball, it was all luck.

You don't have to be asleep to astral project and you can project yourself nearly anywhere but based on what you said last post, it probably is a vision. But I have to say that I have always had vivid visions and dreams in brilliant technicolor so the fact that they are so vivid, hen you have never previously experienced this, tells you something is going on. Write it down a soon as possible. You may still see a pattern somewhere.

Imp brings up a good point, When I first started my pain medication, I had similar experiances. I try to medatate as well, and I can see things as well. I assumed it was my medication.

I think it's probably visions. I can get them at any time. They can be very vivid at times like I'm watching a movie. At other times, it's more like looking at photographs. I have astral projected a few times, but to me, it seems like you're having visions. Like I said, I get visions throughout the day. However, I do get a lot at night when I lay down to go to sleep because I "quiet my mind" and sometimes meditate.

It happened again yesterday morning, after I got home from work.
This time, it was some sort of classroom. I started out looking at the ceiling tiles, then I looked across the room and saw a map on the wall and a chalkboard. After that, for whatever reason, I had handfulls of pieces of colored chalk and was pouring them through to the floor as I crossed the entire room.
When I said I had handfulls, I should clarify, I never saw any hands, nor any body part at all. I just know that I was effectively dropping colored pieces of chalk at my feet (not that I had feet) as I walked across the room (not that I was actually walking).
I fell asleep shortly after that.

It's been a few weeks since you posted your experiences - have there been more or have the visions stopped? Just curious...

A vision of the lotto numbers would be great. lol A few weeks ago I was laying in bed awake after we got back from Reading. I had strange people popping into my head and then all of a sudden it became numbers just flying everywhere. That has been my weirdest vision as of late.
I was sitting in class today and had a vision. I hate when that happens. It makes it hard to concentrate and I'm fully awake.

I had a vision in my class today as well, that all my students actaully passed...
Seriuosly, when I meditate I see all kind of things. everything from past experiances to things that could happen. really graphic at times.

haha funny. I guess I go into meditative state in class because I'm extremely bored.

So what does it all mean though? I mean ... the last vision I had was about these people in a car, only they weren't real people like you and me... they looked like they had Fisher Price bodies, and Lego heads (barrel-shaped). What the heck is that supposed to mean?

I could make a great joke here but I won't because I understand your frustration. I honestly can't tell you what it means. As Rick said, visions are different for everyone and what they mean are different. I've made a few guesses and was wrong so maybe someone else knows?
