The other day my sister was doing some things and she heard my nephew's toy go off. She went into his room and the toy was going off by itself.
This is a Bob the Builder toy. It has multiple phrases. It's supposed to only go off when you press it. The odd thing is, when it was going off it was only saying certain words from the list of phrases it has in it. She just stood there and finally when she said very sternly, “knock it off.” It stopped. Perhaps it's a coincidence but she is also a sensitive. She's more into the reading people and objects. However, she said that she got this psychic chill down her spine when she went into the room. So, my question is can toys just randomly say whatever words in a phrase they want? She’s never had that happen and they have lots of toys. I keep telling her I want to investigate the house. It’s where I had many things happen to me and my niece saw things too.
Just for the record, she's had toys of theirs malfunction before but she's never called me in a panic before over it. So, that's why I thought this one isolated incident might be different.
Thanks for any help!

I ahve had this reproted before. it can be casued by weak or almost dead batteries. Have her replace the batteries and see if it happens again. That is a bit weird. In my experience when things go wrong with electronics they just stop working, but it wouldn't be unheard of for short circuts to occur.
I'm more interested in the other occurances in the house. Is your sister resistant to having someone come in and investigate?

Aw Rick you beat me to it.
I second the notion of weak or almost dead batteries. And short (or mostly broken wire) is not out of the question either.
It is definitely worth looking into though, since you have had several personal experiences in the home as well.
Who would like to volunteer to watch the dolls?

I think the batteries were 4 months old and she said he never plays with it. It hasn’t gone off since she said to knock it off, so perhaps it was a malfunction. I just never had her call me over something like that. She said "Michelle call me back as soon as you get this message. You need to come over and see what the heck is in the house."
She isn't resistant to having someone come over to investigate. She’s just afraid that we will find something in there. She said she’ll think about having an investigation.
Some background on this house:
It's the one my parents owned. They wanted to remodel it. Nothing major, just taking down all the old walls and putting up new stuff and insulation, putting in central heat and air, and new electrical system. I moved in when my dad was tearing down the old ceiling and walls. Then I started feeling so much activity. My niece also witnessed it because she always asked me or my mom who the man in the room was.
A lot of my personal experiences are listed in the “Personal Experiences” section and some are from that house.
I’ve seen a spirit or two with my own eyes in that house, saw black and white orbs floating around, heard some weird talking right next to my face while laying in bed, and I felt like someone was pulling on me….just to name a few. She also can’t figure out why her door was opening and closing on its own but it only happened once so she just dismissed it as something she couldn’t explain.
I know some of the noise was mice in the attic but there are just some things I cannot explain.
I forget exactly what the door incident was but I think it may have involved her dog she used to have but I’m not 100% sure.
I just know I’m usually not scared to sleep at night, but in this house I was. I would have to go to bed with a nightlight and sometimes would leave my ceiling light on. Now that I’m living in new house this feeling is over. It was like a weight was lifted off of me and I don’t feel any presences here. But when I go there at times I do feel presences but I just don’t tell her. The house was built in the 1950’s I think. I get the feeling that something is tied to the land not the house, but that’s just what I think.
It’s also odd my niece would be telling me she sees a man and she’s so serious about it. This hasn’t happened for a long time though because it was my uncle. We showed her a picture and she told us that’s the man she saw. But, I don’t believe that’s the only man in there. I feel someone from a whole different era.
If you want to know any more you can PM me. It’s just, I could write a book on the experiences I had there. Oddly enough most of it occurred when we tore things down and put it back. It’s more sporadic now.
And not to fear guys…my nieces don’t have many dolls. They like my little pet shop and teddy bears more.

Well the batteries may not have been brand spanking new. Sometimes they sit on shelves for years before you buy them. That would explain a low battery discharge.
As for the other things, maybe you might want to put it to the group or bring your sister to speak with us. Maybe we can set her mind to ease.

Michelle,
If your sister doesn't want to tell her stories in front of the whole group, ask her if she just wants to talk to a couple of us. This can be done at the house or someplace completely removed from it.
Tom.

Ok, that sounds good. I think I experienced a whole lot more than her in the house. I lived there for 3 years I think and she's only been there around a year or so.

My 5 year old's toys go off all the time and have since he was an infant. Last night he has an iron man helmet that lights up and talks and it went off every 5 minutes.
I thought it was batteries too but he had an infant light up stack toy and it would light up and play different songs. When it went off on it's own it would only play twinkle twinkle lil star. Anyway I pulled one of the batteries out to get it to stop and climbed back into bed only to have it go off again with one missing battery.
