This is just a nice piece of music or perhaps a small litany to help you make it through the day.
"Moments they come and then they go You'll feel so high and then before you know I could of sworn our future was set in stone But I guess some things it's just as well for God to know
So now I concentrate on turning wrong to right I'm going to let go things I held inside so tight I'm going to live and let forgive things said in spite Clear out the smoke and usher in the light "

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers The heron and the otter are my friends And we are all connected to each other In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
How high will the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper skinned We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains We need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still All you'll own is Earth until You can paint with all the colors of the wind
Colors of the Wind ~ Pocahontas soundtrack

Well they say that love is in the air, never is it clear How to pull it close and make it stay If butterflies are free to fly, why do they fly away Leavin' me to carry on and wonder why Was it you that kept me wondering through this life When you knew that I was always on your side

Rosanna's daddy had a car she loved to drive Stole the keys one night and took me for a ride Turned up the music just as loud as it could go Blew out the speakers in her daddy's radio She was shakin' (oh oh oh oh oh) Snappin' her fingers (oh oh oh oh oh) She was movin' round and round That girl was shakin' We started drinkin' had to take it straight She was doin' 80 and she slammed on the brakes Got so high we had to pull to the side We did some shakin' til the middle of the night Shakin' (oh oh oh oh oh) Snappin' her fingers (oh oh oh oh oh) She was up and down and round and round Shakin' Shakin' (oh oh oh ) (oh oh oh oh) (oh oh oh) (oh oh oh ) Chorus I got a little nervous, when she took her coat off She looked so pretty Ahh yeah I'm always talkin' baby talkin' too much I love that little girl and I just can't get enough It takes a lonely night with nowhere to go Just call Rosanna, it's a hell of a show

Ahh I remember playing and singing that back in the band years. remind me to tell you the story behind that one. not one of my best moments, I'll tell it now: We were playing at cooks lounge in Wilkes-barre, I was singing that song and there is a line where it said she took her coat off, I sang she took her clothes, some girl decided to drop her tube top and I forgot the words...

one of my favs: Bright Star -- Kerry Livgren (from Kansas)
I was living on an island in the middle of a sea I was peering through a window when your light fell down on me I was walking in a garden, when I fell from such a height I was waiting for the morning, of a long and empty night
(Chorus) Bright Star still shining, Bright Star still showing us the way Bright Star, still shining As you rise across the heavens now The world can see your love is alive
Now I seem to hang suspended, far below, but high above As my broken life is mended, I can see no greater love
(Chorus)
You're burning so bright, the power of your light Is melting my heart of stone Create me a new, the image of you Is all I long for, live and die for, I give it all to you

Another one from Kerry Livgren:
Welcome to the War:
The word you call a weapon Is the sound that will divide And the war goes on within your heart 'Til you finally take a side And put to death your pride
You speak of fear and judgement Do you fear the one who knows? Your freedom's restoration Is the purpose you oppose
And the consequence of action Is a law that all men face The rising son has bought the human race
(Chorus I) Welcome to the war From beginning to end Welcome to the last world war Welcome to the war Truth will not bend Tell me who you're fighting for
Your dreams and all your visions Won't feed a hungry child And all the vain philosophies Have left your mind defiled You declare as myth and legend What stands before your eyes The faith is sure, but you prefer the lies
(Chorus II) Welcome to the war There is no neutral ground Welcome to the last world war Welcome to the war No escape can be found Tell me who you're fighting for
And when you're truly broken, it all becomes so clear This place that we were born in, all the hatred and the fear Was not the world intended, nor ever meant to be So twisted and distorted, it's reaching out and crying to be free
The power and the glory will not be put to shame The world in which we're meant to live Has been revealed, and conquered in his name
To those who hold the future as a time when all is well The truth is in the knowing of a heaven or a hell For the aliens and strangers it's a time we must endure For the light grows dim, the victory is sure
(Chorus III) Welcome to the war There is no neutrality Welcome to the last world war Welcome to the war It's the one reality Tell me who you're fighting for
(Chorus I)

one last one Styx Lorelei =
When I think of Lorelei my head turns all around As gentle as a butterfly she moves without a sound I call her on the telephone, she says be there by eight Tonight's the night she's moving in and I can hardly wait
The way she moves, ooh-ooh I gotta say Lorelei let's live together Brighter than the stars forever Lorelei let's live together Brighter than the stars forever
Her eyes become of Paradise, she softly speaks my name She brightens every lonely night, no one's quite the same She calls me on the telephone, she says be there by eight Tonight's the night she's moving in, it's time to celebrate
The way she moves, ooh-ooh I gotta say Lorelei let's live together Brighter than the stars forever Lorelei let's live together Brighter than the stars forever

Rick I just noticed your Shakin story and it prompts a story of my own.
We used to plan it that way, I would sing...
I got real nervous She took her clothes off She show her b00bies, Aw yes!
And in the final chorus Sh sh sh sh sh she was shaven!
Wow the things we thought were cool, huh?

One of my all time favorites....the Mamas & the Papas
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray. I've been for a walk on a winter's day. I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.; California dreamin' on such a winter's day.
Stopped in to a church I passed along the way. Well I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray. You know the preacher liked the cold; He knows I'm gonna stay. California dreamin' on such a winter's day.
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray. I've been for a walk on a winter's day. If I didn't tell her I could leave today; California dreamin' on such a winter's day. California dreamin' on such a winter's day. California dreamin' on such a winter's day.

The winter here is cold, & bitter It's chilled us to the bone, I haven’t seen the sun for weeks, Too long, too far from home. I feel just like I’m sinking, And I claw for solid ground, I’m pulled down by the undertow, I never thought I could feel so low, And oh darkness I feel like letting go.

This whole song is wonderful but this is my favorite part:
Breathe (2am) - Anna Nalick 2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me, Threatening the life it belongs to And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud And I know that you'll use them, however you want to

I think this one is better.
Driving away from the wreck of the day and I'm thinkin' bout calling on Jesus.
Cuz love doesn't hurt so I know I'm not falling in love, I'm just falling to pieces.
